Summer — An end-of-the-school-year poem (Anonymous)
The time is almost here again.
School’s almost out and the pools are open.
Time for diplomas and exams,
Time for flip-flops and tans.
The year is almost over and summer is coming.
And everyone is
Pulling out their shorts.
It’s time to hang out with friends
And to have bonfires with the family.
Time to have a s’mores or two by the fire.
It’s time to watch the sky light up.
Light up with fireflies and stars that fill the sky.
It’s time to say goodbye to another year.
And to some friends who are leaving us
To build their future.
